DNA Data is the information generated from an AncestryDNA® test. This data is used to estimate your ethnicity estimate, match you with genetic relatives, and predict your traits. This uninterpreted data is also called “raw data.”
DNA Data can be downloaded in a .txt (text file) format. DNA Data from other websites cannot be uploaded to Ancestry®.
You can access your raw genetic data within your 23andMe account one of three ways:
Downloading Your Raw Data
To download your raw data, click on the Download tab from within the top navigation bar within the Browse Raw Data feature and scroll down until you see the "Submit request" button. You will receive an email to the email address associated with your 23andMe account when your raw data download file is ready. Typically files are ready within 1 hour.
We recommend you start with GeneticGenie and upload your raw data file to get Methylation/ Detox Panels and GenVue Variant Discovery. This site is free and quite user friendly.
GeneticLifehacks is a great source of information and offers genetic reports (some require a subscription).
StrateGene offers a very comprehensive report, however there is a $95 charge. They only use raw data files from Ancestry and SelfDecode.
NutraHacker offers free methylation and detox reports. Other reports available based on a fee. Does not seem as comprehensive or user friendly as some other sites.
